HAPPY EARTH DAY!

This celebration started as early as the 50's but the radical changes and revolution started in the 70's as the people are more environment conscious due to the eminent growth of pollution. Today Earth Day is more significant than ever because of the current environmental dilemma 'Climate Change" or also known as the "Global Warming" that greatly affect the whole world population since it was confirmed that is not just a myth but an occurring fact.

GreenMobile joins the entire human race to celebrate Earth Day not only on the 22nd of April but for every single day of our lives here on Earth. Let's help our Mother Earth to cure itself with our collective effort to reduce, reuse and recycle everything that we have.

GreenMobile list down 11 things/ways we can do not only on Earth Day but for every single day.

1.
Start segregating our trash to biodegradable to non-biodegradable.
2.
Separate trash that can be reuse or recycle. You could make profit out it.
3.
Start avoiding/reject the use of plastic while shopping or other transaction with plastic packaging. If you can hold your purchases without the plastic then that's great way to reduce plastic dependence. Try the trendy and cool bayongs!
4.
Always make sure that lights are turned-off when not in use.
5.
Avoid using dryers during laundry, instead let the wind dry up your clothes.
6.
Try motorpooling. It will not only save you thousand of bucks on the petrol, but it will also save us from pollution.
7.
Buy and use organic based products. These may cost a little higher but its effect on the environment is less.
8.
Opt not to buy new notebook or pad, instead stick your used paper with note pad glue (the red one) and you can make different shapes and sizes of note pad and saves you hundred of pesos from buying a new one.
9.
Conserve water at all time! (you know what you have to do)
10.
Don't litter! Most specially plastics one. If you could put it first on your pocket or bag, then throw it in trash cans later, It will save us from clogged drainage and trash piling up on the street!
11.
Also, try using your GreenMobile Solar Charger the whole day instead of plugging your gadget to electric sockets. Though the effect may be little but if done collectively, it will lessen our power consumption and pollution by utilizing renewable energy like our Sun's solar power! If you still don't have your own GreenMobile Solar Charger, buy one now before Earth Day!

Hope you can follow one or if not all of these things not only on Earth Day but for the rest of your lives. HAPPY EARTH DAY!

GADGETS' CHARGER GETS GREEN WITH SOLAR POWER
Written by Louise M. Francisco / Researcher, BusinessMirror
Sunday, 30 November 2008

While electronic companies worldwide are complying with their environmental responsibilities in manufacturing products and managing their waste at the highest standards possible, a Filipino-owned company is also banking on green technology to save Mother Earth and the people’s pocket from energy cost through solar chargers.

Tritec Integrated Philippines Inc. has manufactured GreenMobile Solar Chargers that have lithium batteries which can be charged by facing its solar panels directly to the sun and by plugging the unit to a computer using a USB (universal serial bus) cable.

“Our solar chargers dramatically reduce energy cost of gadget users because they don’t have to spend any or just need to spend less because it does not directly consume current,” claimed Tristan San Buenaventura, president of Tritec.

The solar chargers have solar panels made of semiconductors composed of silicon that directly converts sunlight into electricity. These are compatible with popular mobile handset models, MP3 players, digital cameras, gaming devices and other handy tech stuff. The complete adapter compatibility list is listed on the company web site, www.gmsolarcharger.com.

“Next month we’ll add one more adapter in addition to our current nine to give solar chargers more connectivity options.”

Tritec’s solar chargers have three models. The foldable handmade leatherette GM30 can fully charge a gadget in two-and-a-half to three hours from a full sunlight exposure of 10 to 12 hours, or three- to four-hour USB port charge.

The GM50 unit has two detachable solar panels that shorten charging time of devices from one to four hours from a direct-sunlight charge of eight to 10 hours, or three- to four-hour USB port charge, almost similar to the lightest GM90 unit wrapped in aluminum casing that has a pop-up multicrystalline solar panel.

The suggested retail price of GM30 is P2,245, while GM50 and GM90 cost P2,148 and P2,548, respectively.

“These [solar chargers] are portable so users can use them anytime and anywhere. Next year we’re going to launch a model that will cater to laptops,” disclosed San Buenaventura.

He added that with their products, tech aficionados and mobile people no longer need to solely recharge their battery-powered gadgets on electric outlets.

The company also claimed that GreenMobile Solar Chargers protect functional and fashionable tech widgets against reverse current, circuit integrated to prevent batteries from being discharged, overcharged, over current and short circuit.

He further boasted, “They don’t even have to bring spare cell as solar chargers have infinite power to power up low-battery gizmos.”
