While
electronic companies worldwide are complying with
their environmental responsibilities in manufacturing
products and managing their waste at the highest standards
possible, a Filipino-owned company is also banking
on green technology to save Mother Earth and the peoples
pocket from energy cost through solar chargers.
Tritec
Integrated Philippines Inc. has manufactured GreenMobile
Solar Chargers that have lithium batteries which can
be charged by facing its solar panels directly to
the sun and by plugging the unit to a computer using
a USB (universal serial bus) cable.
Our
solar chargers dramatically reduce energy cost of
gadget users because they dont have to spend
any or just need to spend less because it does not
directly consume current, claimed Tristan San
Buenaventura, president of Tritec.
The
solar chargers have solar panels made of semiconductors
composed of silicon that directly converts sunlight
into electricity. These are compatible with popular
mobile handset models, MP3 players, digital cameras,
gaming devices and other handy tech stuff. The complete
adapter compatibility list is listed on the company
web site, www.gmsolarcharger.com.
Next
month well add one more adapter in addition
to our current nine to give solar chargers more connectivity
options.
Tritecs
solar chargers have three models. The foldable handmade
leatherette GM30 can fully charge a gadget in two-and-a-half
to three hours from a full sunlight exposure of 10
to 12 hours, or three- to four-hour USB port charge.
The
GM50 unit has two detachable solar panels that shorten
charging time of devices from one to four hours from
a direct-sunlight charge of eight to 10 hours, or
three- to four-hour USB port charge, almost similar
to the lightest GM90 unit wrapped in aluminum casing
that has a pop-up multicrystalline solar panel.
The
suggested retail price of GM30 is P2,245, while GM50
and GM90 cost P2,148 and P2,548, respectively.
These
[solar chargers] are portable so users can use them
anytime and anywhere. Next year were going to
launch a model that will cater to laptops, disclosed
San Buenaventura.
He
added that with their products, tech aficionados and
mobile people no longer need to solely recharge their
battery-powered gadgets on electric outlets.
The
company also claimed that GreenMobile Solar Chargers
protect functional and fashionable tech widgets against
reverse current, circuit integrated to prevent batteries
from being discharged, overcharged, over current and
short circuit.
He
further boasted, They dont even have to
bring spare cell as solar chargers have infinite power
to power up low-battery gizmos.
