Frequently
Asked Questions
Q:
What is the difference between each models?
A:
Well, the only difference is their respective designs and
the material used on each model. You may also see that the
panel in GM30 is a little a bit bigger that of GM50 and
GM90 but they do the same stuff, charging your gadgets.
Every model is for different person, GM30 is for the budget
conscious type but still needs alternative power source
for their mobile gadgets, the GM50 is for the adventurous
buffed people since the GM50 looks more masculine. The GM90
on the hand is for the aesthetically inclined people or
for more professional looking gadgets. But it still depends.

Q:
What is the best way to charge the Lithium battery inside,
using the panel or through the use of USB?
A:
It depends on your preference, but both ways is the same
in charging your GreenMobile Solar Charger but differs on
the duration. When you
use the panel it will take 8-10 hours but it is more environment
friendly because you use pure solar energy. But if you have
no time to charge it using the panel, you can charge it
through USB cable for 4-5 hours, specially during night
for the next morning trip.

Q:
Why is that after charging it using the panel for more several
hours or even a day, and then when I was about to charge
my gadget, charging process only last up to five minutes?
A:
You have to observe if the LED turns color green before
charging your
gadgets that means the battery inside if fully charged.
Also if using the
USB cable, you have to wait for the LED turns to color green
to indicate
battery full charge state. If the LED indicator is still
in color red, it means it is still in charging state.
Note:
For the GM30 because it only has one (1) LED indicator please
observe that if charging the battery under sunlight, it
will not turn green but rather observe the charging time
to optimize the full charging state.

Q:
Why is that after several hours or even days of charging
the Lithium Battery inside using the panel, the LED indicator
is still in color red?
A:
There are several reasons that might affect the charging
process using the panel and one of them are the following:
| |
Location
- the place where the charger located is a major factor
that could affect the charging duration. When you placed
your charger inside your house or building, it might
be getting insufficient amount of light to charge the
battery inside. The more open yet dry area you place
the charger, the better the amount of light it can harness. |
| |
Weather
- Though 85% of UV rays still penetrate the clouds during
gloomy or cloudy days, the charging process could be
affected and might prolong the charging duration. It
is important to remember that the more intense the sunlight
is, the better and fast duration of charging could be. |
| |
Protective
Film - Upon your purchase of the unit, you may notice
that there is a film coating the panel. The film purpose
is to protect the panel which is made from glass from
scratches and dirt build-up that could damage the panel.
But if the panel is already full of scratches, dirt
or residue build-up, it could affect its efficiency
to harness light from the sun. It is advisable to remove
the protective film once this happen. |
| |
Mishandling
- Because our product is intended to be use in conjunction
with mobility, it is expected that its user is in transit
most of the time. Though we care and handle our gadget
carefully, there might be an instance that the unit
may have fallen, experience sudden shocked, or mishandled,
it is important to remember that these might damage
the panel and the board inside the charger. When this
happen, the charging process is affected or the unit
itself could be damaged already. |
Note:
Though we indicated that the charging hours for GM30 is
10-12 hours, GM50 8-10 hours, and GM90 8-10 hours on the
User's Manual and here on the website, the ff: are additional
information and clarification on the matter:
The
best charging time for the Solar chargers , normally, it
is from 11:00 A.M to 3:00 P.M, so that is 4 hours out of
the 8-10 hours, so basically it will take a minimum of 2
days to fully charge a Solar charger using the solar panel.
| |
Placing
a Solar chargers behind the glass window will also reduce
the amount of energy absorbed by the Solar panels. |
| |
Any
shadow/shade on a part of one or more panels will reduce
the performance of the Solar charger. |
| |
For
the Solar panels to perform at their peak they need
to be in direct sunlight and perpendicular to the sun,
this requires adjustment to the Solar chargers as the
sun moves through the sky. |
| |
Clouds,
pollution and higher latitudes will have a reduced impact
on solar chargers performance. |
These
factors may indirectly or directly affect the charging state
of the charger and may vary from time to time since sun
intensity is variable and uncontrollable yet harnessing
the light to power gadget will enable us to utilize the
nature given power efficiently.
Please
be advise that we are still in the process of developing
more the technology so as to provide you with the best of
our products in the future!

Q:
Why is that it takes too long to charge my gadgets?
A:
There are several reasons that could explain it, but the
most common cause is the battery condition of your gadget.
If your battery is already exhausted or its battery life
is already past due, the charging could be a bit longer
because it can no longer sustain power that fast. Another
reason that could be affecting the charging is the charging
cable is not properly connected to the solar charger and
this might cause power waste. It is also important to remember
that different type gadgets has different type of battery
and charging duration, so definitely the duration differs
from one another.

Q:
Why it is too long to charge the lithium battery of the
solar charger using the panel compares using the USB cable?
A:
Well of course using the panel to charge the battery will
definitely take long because you are harnessing power from
the sunlight, and harnessing light to collect power differs
in different situation. One aspect is the size of the panel,
because our chargers are compact on its design, the ability
of harnessing power from the sun is affected. The bigger
the panel the faster it collects power from the sun. It
is also important to remember that solar panel is a renewable
technology product that uses free and alternative energy
which comes from the sun. Renewable energy is much different
from the grid type power source. But the more we use renewable
energy, the more we help the environment and lessen the
threat of GLOBAL WARMING!

Q:
Why is that when I plug my gadget to the solar charger it
automatically shut down? Can the charger damage my gadget?
A: Every maker of gadget most especially the different
mobile brands installed a protection system on their product
if there is an uncompatible adapter attached to it. When
this happen, it means the protection system has been activated
to protect your unit from it. Again, we strongly advise
to check if your gadget is compatible with the adapters
supplied in the charger. So far, we haven't encountered
that the charger can cause damage to the gadget, you may
refer to the packaging box and at the product page to view
it full technical specification that indicates that there
is a protection system to protect your units for possible

Q:
I have notice that the box indicate that it could also charger
digital camera, what brand and model does it charge?
A:
Yes, there is an indication
on the packaging that it could also charge small digital
camera. The adapter use for some of the Motorola brand mobile
phone supplied in every package is a universal mini USB.
If your digital camera has the same connector with the charger
it could possibly be able to charge it. Since we don't have
a list for the brands and model of digital camera, we strongly
advice to check the voltage requirement of your camera if
it is compatible with the output voltage of the charger
before connecting it. We will come up with complete list
of brands and models of digital camera in the future please
check the website regularly for updates.

Q:
Why is that there are times that I connect my iPod/iPhone
to the solar charger it doesn't work right away?
A:
Well the answer for that is because some Apple product most
particularly the iPod Touch and the iPhone is kinda sensitive
on its required voltage, you may experience non-charging
from time to time but it does not mean that the charger
is broken or defected but it just experiencing a technical
glitch in charging the product and also the cable connector
or the adapter itself is having a trouble connecting to
the main port of the unit. Another thing is that our solar
charger is not yet compatible with the iPhone 3G series,
and only works for the non-3G as of the moment. But rest
assured that we are currently working for further development
of the product to meet this issue. We also want to inform
you that it will not in anyways cause any damage to your
units.
